SpaceLogger T10 Overview

The SpaceLogger T10, or the TextLogger, is a universal serial data recorder, supporting a range of ASCII text logging applications from RS232 compatible data sources.

A TextLogger will capture data from any piece of equipment fitted with a serial port, making it an extremely versatile data logger, ideal for paperless recording of data.

The data is stored on a removable memory card as a .TXT file, enabling remote data logging without the need for PC hook-up. The recorded data file can be simply uploaded to a PC after logging to view and analyse the data; no special software is required.

The unit uses an SD card (included). These cards are available with up to 2 GByte capacity for long term data logging. TextLogger will also accept other compatible data storage cards.

Set up of the SpaceLogger T10 to change the communication protocol, file name format, character substitutions, logic inversion, recording of data as ASCII hex values or data output, is simple via a configuration file written to the SD card. Settings are saved to memory.

The SpaceLogger T10 may be set up to output RS232 data as it is input or as logged. This enables connection to a PC, display or other device.

The SpaceLogger T10 TextLogger has been designed as an economic, stand-alone solution for record keeping of equipment operating data or for instrument test data acquisition.

A TextLogger is the ideal replacement for a printer whenever ASCII data is transmitted from a device, a cost effective paperless data recorder.

Typical Applications

  • Recording and storage of operating data from laboratory and medical devices for record-keeping. e.g.autoclaves and sterilisers, glassware washer-disinfectors, refrigerators, freezers and incubators.
  • Testing and validation of new equipment by R&D, laboratory and test departments.
  • Data acquisition from remotely mounted instruments. e.g. temperature, humidity, pressure, pollution, noise, wind speed and direction measurements.
  • Data recording from measuring equipment such as load cells and scales, analysers, flow meters, mix and dose units, road traffic counters, GPS.
  • Education and research data collection.
  • Production line monitoring for quality purposes.

Examples of SpaceLogger T10 Applications

  • Environmental sensors e.g. wind speed and direction, temperature, humidity, pressure, noise, pollution
  • GPS and other NMEA devices
  • Weighing balances and scales
  • Measuring equipment and analysers including flow meters, mix & dose units and counters
  • Barcode scanners & RFID readers
