Our primary market consists of OEMs who embed computers in military & space applications, transportation, control, security and energy systems; and data acquisition. Our rugged computers are uniquely designed to withstand wide temperature ranges and shock and vibration. Because Octagon computers are smaller than most other industrial PCs, they can be used in many applications not served by the traditional market.

Ruggedness by design

From our smallest cards that measure 4.5" x 4.9" to our slightly larger single board computers, you'll find Octagon CPUs small enough for the tightest application. They are rugged enough to endure temperatures ranging from –40° to 85° C. Built to withstand up to 5g vibration and 20g shock, our cards go to extremes that standard PCs just can't handle. In fact, our cards are rugged enough for the Boeing 777, reliable enough to fly on the Space Shuttle, tough enough to guide earth moving machines, hardy enough to withstand Siberian winters, and small enough to be velcroed to a pilot's knee.

Highly reliable

With a demonstrated Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF) of 10.27 to 26.25 years, Octagon cards meet rigorous MIL–217F standards. That means you're ensured exceptional reliability.

Reduces power consumption by 90 percent

Octagon's 100–percent CMOS design reduces power consumption to about 10 percent of the power required to run a standard PC. A single 5V power supply is all that's needed. In fact, you won't need a cooling fan, even if our cards are housed in a sealed enclosure.

Packaged for performance

Our system of flexible packaging/mounting options ensures that our products are easy to incorporate into the most challenging applications. In fact, Octagon cards offer the most packaging options of any industrial PC system on the market. You'll find the possibilities are endless. Install our cards in ISA Bus card cages and backplanes. Or, place them side–by–side, stack them, mount them at right angles, plug them into custom I/O boards or operate them stand–alone. Options are as varied as your application need.

•  PC/104 CPUs—like our Micro PCs these are small and rugged in a PC/104 package with Pentium performance.
